Care that meets you where you are—Sunnyside is mental health wellness app for Asian adults navigating neurodivergence, with tools made to support you.
Sunnyside is a mental health and wellness app developed by Asian Connections Hub (ACH) to support neurodivergent Asian adults through accessible, culturally grounded tools for self-care, education, and community connection. Grounded in ACH’s mission, Sunnyside cultivates healing, resilience, and empowerment—amplifying diverse voices and nurturing the next generation of leaders through a mental wellness approach that honors culture and lived experience.
You belong here - this is your space for rest and reflection
Sunnyside serves as a vital mental wellness hub for Asian communities, thoughtfully designed to support neurodivergent Asian adults with culturally grounded tools and resources that honor their unique lived experiences. By partnering closely with community leaders, organizations, and mental health professionals, we deliver care that is both relevant and accessible—rooted in culture and community. Within the app, users find connection through peer support forums, mentorship circles, and group wellness programs that integrate healing with leadership and personal development. Through personalized self-care tools, mental health education, and community engagement, Sunnyside advances the mission of Asian Connections Hub: fostering a mental health ecosystem that is inclusive, visible, and truly accessible to underserved communities.
From Need to Care: Our Story
Founded in 2020 by Michelle Ta, Sunnyside grew out of her personal journey navigating mental health and the systemic barriers she encountered along the way.
Recognizing that many in her community faced similar challenges without accessible support, Michelle was driven to create change. She partnered with designers, engineers, and advocates who shared a vision of building a mental wellness space grounded in care, inclusivity, and accessibility.
Together, they brought Sunnyside to life—a platform designed to uplift, empower, and support neurodivergent Asian adults in prioritizing their well-being within a community that truly sees and understands them.
Supporting People, Shifting Systems
Sunnyside’s mission is to advance accessible, culturally responsive mental health support for Asian adults who are neurodivergent.
We recognize that traditional systems of care often leave our communities behind. In response, Sunnyside takes a community-informed, equity-centered approach grounded in the lived experiences of those we serve.
Our long-term strategy is guided by three core pillars:
Positioning Sunnyside as a trusted hub for Asian mental wellness by co-creating tools with mental health professionals that reflect the needs of neurodivergent Asian communities.
Building inclusive, identity-affirming community spaces that foster connection through peer support, mentorship, and collective healing.
Developing accessible, personalized wellness tools that reduce barriers to care and empower individuals to engage with mental health on their own terms.
Through this framework, Sunnyside seeks to shift how care is delivered—centering cultural relevance, lived experience, and community co-creation as pathways toward collective well-being.
